I have been using :
AnyDVD/CloneDVD = for tv series DVD's
AnyDVD/NeroRecode = for all other DVD's

My question is, what Is the quality difference between the two?
and then...

What is the quality difference between Thoughs two methods and the:
DVD Decrypter/CCE - Method (or any other indepth method)?

Basically I am trying to figure out if I should learn how to use any other methods of burning to leave me with better quality backup's or wether or not the difference is so minuet I am better off sticking with simplicity ?

Which is the best way to go to burn DVD-9's with all menu's and extra's and the best quality ?

Thanks

If you want the best quality for your backups you should use the Big 3 method which uses CCE as an encoder. The other programs you mentioned (AnyDVD, CloneDVD, Recode) are all transcoders...meaning that rather than encoding all the original bits from the source, transcoders throw about bits here and there to reduce size. The Big 3 method (which has its own forum on here) will take some time to learn but once you do, you'll never go back.

I guess you just have to ask yourself if your time learning is worth what you receive. For me, I learned the big three and other ways for the sheer fun of it and to learn how dvd were constructed.

Also, quality is in the eye of the beholder. Some like the output from transcoders and also like being able to basically press one button and get a dvd. Whereas others like the quality of cce and like creating a dvd step by step (even though its getting pretty automated with the big three now). I learned a while back when you had to do most things manually, but I have a better understanding now.

My advice to you is to try it, you never know you may even enjoy it.

ok, you have convinced me, I'll give it a shot...

Now what is the best Guide or Guide"s" to learn the big three method ?
So I don't waste my time reading garbage.

Thanks

@BassKozz,
i think you will find that there are no 'garbage' guides located within the doom9 guide section...
each guide is written for a particular purpose, and you will find that as your interest in this topic grows, you will read a vast majority of the available guides as to a certain degree, they are all inter-related.
i have compiled a list of the most pertinent guides associated with the 'big 3' here:
Big 3 Tools: Guides and FAQs (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74867)
good luck

I also perfer this guide:

http://www.doom9.org/mpg/scenaid.htm

If you come with problems (everybody does) then use the search function (you can find solutions to most problems that way) to help guide you. If you can't find a solution there then I'm sure the members of this fine board will be happy to assist. Good luck and have fun.
