I'm curious, what do you call a duo DVD? Is it a dual layer DVD, or dual sided, or the one with two versions of the same movie? Although I'm not sure what you mean exactly, I have a feeling that CloneDVD would be one of the suitable programs for you.

sorry I should have explained a bit better, duo simply means two different movies compressed onto one 4.7GIG dvd :D

Well, if they are already compressed into DVD-5, there is no real benefit of splitting it, is there? This will perhaps make sense if you want to re-encode them into DivX and store each of them on CD or something like that. Anyway, since you probably don't care about the menus, you can use DVD Shrink in Re-author mode. Just drag the title from the left panel into the DVD structure on the right.

thanks for your help, although you seem to take a lot for granted in your post I do indeed require the menus and the object of the post was quite simply a leaning execise as im new to using this particular software, thanks again

Alright, if this is an exercise, then DVD Shrink is not the best software for the job since it won't allow you to remove a title, only to compress it into still pictures. In general, there are several ways to go about this:
1. Re-author entire DVD including the menus. This is the most difficult way but you can learn a lot. You'll need to take the entire DVD apart into audio/video/subpicture streams, and then put it back together the way you like it. To do it properly, you'll need a more or less professional tool with two most popular being Scenarist and Maestro.
2. You can use a one-click DVD backup program such as CloneDVD to remove the title, which will be replaced by a half-second long blank clip. In this case, all your DVD structure will remain intact. There are some other freeware tools that can do this job in seconds for you such as TitlesetBlanker or VobBlanker, but you need to know exactly what you're doing since they're working with DVD structure on a lower level.
3. You can use a simple authoring program that would import the video and allow you to create new menus for the DVD. One good example is TMPGEnc DVD Author.
Good luck.
