Hello, everyone
I have very specific problem. I've been trying this for past several weeks, and I have no results so far.
I want to change the way my widescreen DVD movies display subtitles. I'm very annoyed by the fact they are displayed over picture instead in black area below (like DIVX players).
I'm aware of the difference between DVD and DIVX subtitling (DVD uses bitmaps, DIVX text strings).
My first idea was to change frame size, in other words, to make 4:3 movie from widescreen one, by adding black bars to the movie. I dropped this idea because it's impossible to avoid recoding (am I right?).
My question is: is it possible to somehow (e.g. by changing IFO file) instruct DVD player to "patch" subtitle bitmap below the movie frame?
Sorry about my bad English.
thanks in advance
greetings, Misha
