Hello guys,
I was busy trying to make a dvd5 of the Eagles concert dvd,
I used the tutorial of "the big three" and I must say it works perfect! I like experimenting with copying dvds, but my second dvd copy failed. The problem? I dont get it. Everything goes according to plan, importing succesful in scenarist. Then I go to the layout editor, and tell scenarist to start making the dvd...... and then ..... "Layout Failed! (See message window)"
Error The track<VTS01P01> has place holder.
Error PreCheck From DB failed
Error DVD files could not be created
Does anyone have a clue what I'm missing here? Thanks in advance for helping me out!
WdU
PS. Im using Scenarist 2.7

In Data Editor, have a look at every asset (audio/video/still) included in the mentioned track. Placeholder looks like a Windows shortcut icon with an arrow in the left bottom corner and has a similar purpose. Placeholder's properties should show the file it refers to. Once you ensured that the file is in place, right-click on the placeholder and select Placeholder->Data.

Thank you so much for your reply! No I know what a placeholder is. I checked if the file was in place, and indeed it was! I did what you said, and tried to convertit to data. Doesnt work, it says:
Warning This DTS has different duration. [D:\dvd@work\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-89-1536K-[0ms]-ch6English.DTS]
Warning This DTS has different number of channel. [D:\dvd@work\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-89-1536K-[0ms]-ch6English.DTS]
Warning This DTS has different bitrate. [D:\dvd@work\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-89-1536K-[0ms]-ch6English.DTS]
So maybe I did something wrong ?
The placeholder settings are as follows:
Comment:
Name: VTS__01_P01_89
Resolution: PAL
Data Start Time: 00:00:00:00
Data End Time: 00:00:0924
File: D :\dvd@work\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-89-1536K-[0ms]-ch6English.DTS
Bit Rate:
Channel: 2
LFE on: [v]
Acmod: C + L + R + SL + SR

In the placeholder settings, number of channels is set to 2 and must be changed to 6 since you're working with 6-channel DTS file. Bit Rate should be set to 1536.
If you're still having troubles, I suggest you do this: add that file D:\dvd@work\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-89-1536K-[0ms]-ch6English.DTS separately to Scenarist, check its properties, and set the properties of the placeholder exactly the same. Then try to switch placeholder to data.

Thank you very much DImmer! You helped me a lot. Also many credits for D3s7 for helping me out. What was the solution?
I imported the DTS file in a new file, exported it to a script, copied the script dts settings to the by scenaid generated script file, and rebuilded it! It worked. It was because of a DTS limitation in Scenaid, but the newer version of Scenaid should be more compatible with DTS sound.
Thanks guys!
