Hi, I've successfully used DVD-RB.44 to backup a couple of movies, with no problems. Very smooth, and very exciting! I'm fairly noobish when it comes to complex DVD issues, and I always used the one-click solutions. The most complex thing i've done is a combination of dvd-stripper, and DVDshrink.

So... Excuse my ignorance in this problem. I just tried using DVD-rebuilder .45 on In Living Color Season 1 Disk 1, and when playing back in Windows media player (after burning) I get an odd horizontal line effect throughout the entire DVD.

If I play the DVD in Media Player Classic, there is no line effect, but the image seems "soft" or slightly blurred. I also played it in Nero's media player (showtime) and the image seems normal except for being slightly dark. I have yet to try it in my standalone DVD player, but I'll give it a shot tonight.

I havent seen this problem with any of the other movies I have backed up.

Is this "interlacing?" I'm very inexperienced, so any help with the matter is appreciated.

I tried to include a screenshot, but I cant seem to take a screenshot of the display in WMP, it comes out as a black screen.

Definetly sounds like interlacing, but it shouldnt be a problem unless you fiddled with deinterlacing options in dvd-rb (which you shouldnt) or if you converted an interlaced title from LB 4:3 to 16:9 anamorphic with a version prior to 0.45.

Nope, didnt fiddle with anything. All settings are default. I used dvd decrypter to make an iso image of the DVD, mounted the dvd, and used the mounted dvd as the source for RB.

It probably is interlacing. I don't think WMP deinterlaces, and who knows what MPClassic is using for a playback filter, but it sounds like something that has deinterlacing, that's why it looks soft.

How does the original play in WMP?

Wow, I guess I should have checked that before posting. The original plays exactly the same. Also, the backup looked great in my standalone.

Thanks guys, I learn a lot every time I check these forums.
