probably the usual stuff:
wrong file size, encoder might stop/crash, bad quality

wrong file size
He is right on that part. I was doing the first pass and it was 99% over , when windows crashed. So I thought, what the heck, the first pass was almost over anyways (only the credits). So I started the second pass and
the filesize was 650mb (600mb was the target). So I had to do the first pass all over again. I dont remember the exact filesizes but I do remember the fact that it went way off target.

I left the first pass running at night on a computer that's not mine. I was told that the first pass was completed, but I don't know it for sure. Oh well, I'll find out what happened in about 2 hours when the second pass finishes.

The first-passed part of the video will match your requested size, the rest will be encoded at quant 2.

Interesting, why is that? BTW, the encode turned out about 6Mbytes short of the mark.
