Hey there guys. Well, since I've not found any topics comparing these two modes here in this board, I'm creating a new topic myself. What exactely is the difference between these two VMR modes? And why is MPC capable of doing subtitles only on Renderless mode?

I'm asking in terms of speed, filter graph (is it different?) and filters that are loaded with it. One of the reasons I'm asking is that I have some problems with Renderless mode. I have some tearing in the upper part of the video (when in a 4:3 aspect ratio). Depending on the video it can get really annoying. On widescreen ratios (any of them) I also have some tearing once in a while (like those games you play without vsync). In fact, that's what it looks like. It looks like the video can't vsync when in this mode. While in VMR Windowed it is perfect.

The real big problem is that I love MPC's internal subtitle, so I have to keep it set to Renderless, but then I have those problems. So that's my dilemma. :) I've also noticed other programs (e.g. Zoom Player) uses Windowed mode as default.
