CVD with CCE

Does anybody know is there a way to produce CVD-format file
using CCE to play on a standalone DVD-player?

Colp It is not very difficult!
I made CVD before buy DVD recorder. You need make video size 352X576 at 25fps or 352X480 at 23.976fps film or 29.978fps NTSC. If You make from DVD source may use built in feature CCE Horizontal Reduce By 2, You get from DVD source CVD target. Remember about interlace and maximum bitrate (audio+video 2748b/s). After You make video mpv and audio mpa neeed muxed in TMPGEnc or bbmmpeg search on forum and for burning using Nero SVCD template discard standardt copatibility. On my old Pioneer DV-343 work very good.

It would be easiest to use DVD2SVCD for this task, it will save you a lot of handcrafting.

Thanks, I'll try that mux thing. I already tried DVD2SVCD but
had a problem with my source - DV type 1 AVI - it doesn't "eat" this.
Maybe next time I already capture as DV type 2 and will try DVD2SVCD.

CVD-file made using bbmpeg worked well on my standalone DVD-player, although without sound but I didn't have time to test it enough to get also sound. Thanks for solution.

I'm also trying to encode to CVD using CCE but till now has never been succesful. My source is DV as well. It seems that the CCE does not accept the 352x576 size, which I resized using Avisynth. But, it works if I resize it to 480x576, which is SVCD format with the same CCE setup. It has been a week now and I'm still trying. I will be trying the CCE Horizontal Reduce By 2 tonight as suggested by yup. Appreciate if you can let me know if you ever succesfully using CCE to produce CVD.

I've produced half-D1 DVD video using CCE, which is same resolution as CVD.

I just fed CCE 352x480/576 video via avisynth. Root source was xvid avi.

What error message are you getting, exactly?

It was no error. The CCE succesfully encoded the whole movie. The movie looks very nice on PC, but it was messed up on the standalone player. It is like a picture of satelite channel when it is raining. But, if I change the horizontal from 352 to 480, everything OK. How do you setup your CCE?

I just resized to 352x576 using avisynth and then encoded
with CCE, nothing special. Plays well also on standalone player.
But I'm still in trouble with sound. Seems that CCE somehow
disables sound even using standard SVCD template. And if I encoded
to separate mpv and mpa, mpa file is totally silent. What could be the problem here?

Half horizontal resolution seems working for me. Now, I want to try again the 352x576 input straight to the CCE.

Colp, if you have tmpgenc, try load your source with it and look whether your source is inserted automatically to the Audio File section when you inserted it on your Video File section. If it is not inserted into Audio File section automatically, then the problem is at your source.

Cold do not use SVCD template. Make template with separate video and audio (use SVCD bitrate restriction). After encoding mux in bbmpeg or TMGEnc.

I read Avisynth forum and found that avisynth doen't output sound at all when I use DV type 1. Option is to convert to type 2, encode and then mux mpa and mpv using bbmpeg like yup suggested. Now it works fine.
