first post but been here a while, had a play with the big3 and every thing has been going well. The only thing that is bugging be though is encoding.

I read a lot here but cant find the definative answer. What i really need to know is when should i encode with vbr and wheh roba. Dif4u is set to roba by default. Is there a reason for this?

thanx

Roba is actually OPV (one pass VBR) with a short size prediction pass. This method gives good results in about the time that's needed to just create the VAF file for multipass VBR. It is however subject to slight over/undersizing and possibly slightly degraded quality in static scenes.

so basically i have been wasting my time setting up docce4u to do 7 passes roba when i could have got the same quality with a single pass :(
