Hey, I dont know if it's TDA or all authoring programs but TDA is annoying me about how large the output folder is.

For instance, I import a 3.9 gb dvd-video folder and it says the resulting output will be 4.2gb!!

I did another test for a 501 MB file in mpg format and it told me the resulting output size would be 556 MB and 586 MB when using custom menus!!

Now, an additional 50 - 300 MB for menus is just ridiculous.

I have been backin up some movies i own and i notice that those menus are sometimes no larger than 7 MB.

This is what I like!!

Is there any other Authoring software out there that wont waste space like TDA is doing or help me use ways with TDA to not go crazy with takin up ridiculous space.

Thanks

there are a bunch in the faqs, but they cost a lot

Check the menu settings first, you're probably making motion menus you don't need. Also, don't pay much attention to what it says the output size is going to be, check the actual output size. TDA doesn't waste any space except due to a user error.

about TMPEGec:

does it make a pause in between the chapters of the DVD???

Or is that my bad?

When I put a normal DVD in for example, the transition from each chapter to the next is smoother

Thanks

When I put a normal DVD in for example, the transition from each chapter to the next is smootherIt only puts a pause (non-seamless transition) between different video files on the same track. If you want to avoid that, you have to merge the files in another program first, for example TMPGEnc Plus.
