A tv displays a interlaced image, but most pal dvd movies are progressive, so im curious to how the tv displays these progressive images ??

When playing a dvd...... or anything else that has a progressive image.

Never really thought about it before.....

since a tv can display ONLY interlaced (at least 95% or normal tv sets), the dvd player splits the progressive frame into 2 fields. one holds the even lines, and the other field holds the odd lines. so with 2 interlaced field, the tv actually displays the 2 interlaced halves of a single progressive frame.


next time use the search button, and educate yourself a bit on interlacing before asking such questions.
