Is there a way to full backup but with just half the movie?

Hi,

I have a concert DVD (Eagles Hell Freezes Over) that I'd like to backup. The Video/Audio alone takes up 6.7gb. It'll be wiser to split it in two rather than compress it (55% with DVDShrink).

So here's what I'd like to do:

1. Cut the movie in half to put into 2 DVD. One with the first part, one with the second part.
2. Disable (or delete) songs items (on the menu) that are not part of the current disc.

Is that doable with DVDRemake? Or is it much harder?

Absolutely doable with DVDReMake, and it's pretty easy. Just hide the cells you don't want on disk 1, then hide the menu buttons that go to them. Same for disk 2.

And how do i cut the movie in half? (So to fit on a DVD5)

You don't really cut it, you strip it. The movie title is a PGC made up of cells, so for disk one you hide the cells that make up the last half, and on disk two you hide the cells for the first half.

Stripping is a lot more powerful than splitting. For example, you can overlap and have things (like menus) on both disks.

So u mean, i can stil backup a 7gb dvd into a dvd5 by stripping some cells?

EDIT: I see, it's the EXPORT DVD that does it.

I encountered this problem:

When you enter this DVD, the firstplay is a menu that lets you select wither DTS or DD2.0 sound. Then it proceeds to the main menu. However, after I have stripped the second half of the movie, and exported the project, I played it with PowerDVD5 and at the DTS/DD2.0 menu, you cannot select either of them. It seems the button are hidden suddenly. However, they are 'there' in DVDReMake and have never been removed.

I use DVDRemake 1.3.1

Just use latest registered version of the DvdReMake (which is 1.4.6 as of today).
