I'm relatively new to encoding/authoring etc. and I'm having some trouble with an XviD movie. The file comes from a PAL source (a PAL DVD) so it's encoded at 25fps. I want to make an NTSC DVD out of it.
I tried using the project wizard in TMPGEnc to convert the file. I chose the NTSC 16:9 option in the wizard. I left most settings the way they were, with a few exceptions. I did a 2 pass VBR coding, high quality, and when it asked whether the source is a film movie or a video movie I chose film (was I correct here?).
Now, 12 hours later, I have a DVD compliant MPEG-2 file that I paired with an AC3 track encoded separately. I burned the DVD and when I watch it I notice some jittery motion during the movie. I don't know if I'm being overly critical and seeing something that's not there, but it seems to be 'not quite right'.
Have I done something wrong here? Did I miss any steps?
