Hi, I just have a programm that can't be minimized.
No matter what I try I can't!!.
Ok, it's DIGINET SITE a commercial DVR programm
designed for video surveillance.
Platform is XP pro, and it comes with its own
watchdog so any attempt to shut it down just
rebots the system.
While I understand such level of protection in
security app, I have my own reasons to run it
in the background.
Let me explain,
that particular box will be located in rather
remote location, running headless.
Allthough remote client app allows some level
of controll, I may need more(especially as far as camera type or PTZ controll type goes).
This can be done only sitting directly at the
box, which will be appx 30 miles away.
Somebody else will be maintaining hardware
(cameras) on site , but as far as software setup
is involved they're clueless.
Anyway what I usually do is to run remote desktop,
but in this case all I'll probably see is app's
scren with missing overlay (RD doesn't handle
this type overlays well), and response time in
minutes(like 2 min).
16 channels of video doesn't help here, even
with broadband.
Anyway enough ranting, is there anything I can
do to be able to log in remotelly as the user
and have it(diginet site) run in the background?
I tried the obvious (changing the shortcut
property "run minimized") to no avail.
I bet I have to dig in to the registry, but
what to look for?
Any help appreciated.
