WMPlayer no video

My windows Media player suddenly stopped displaying Video, only audio.
i cant remember to have installed any new codecs or anything like that.
i can use PowerDVD,but a lot of my movies get streched and wrong aspect ratio in PowerDVD. Actually i like WinMedia player a lot, and i want to have it working again.

anyone have a solution to this ? also the status bar displays connecting... all the time, and no video but i have sound.

Well it sounds like it was manually or automaticly updated from version 6 to higher (like 9). Only one version was able to play mpeg2 video. You can not go back. Try media player classic, it is similiar but not made by Microsoft.
