looking for information about videocompression under mac os x

i am having a friend who is seeking for information sources on videocompression (mpeg2/4) and dvd-writing on mac platforms (os x).

since i am not into macs, i could only supply him with general information on videocompression, but that would be to impractical for him.

anyone here into that?

3ivx.com forums is a good place to start(lukifer hangs out there), haven't been there in a while though, they will be a good starting point.
