I just got my burner and iam wery new to DVD authoring.

Im not even sure that seamles branching is what i want so ill explain what i want:

I have home videos and i want to make two versions of them that i can select from main menu. One that shows whole video (which can be shown to family members and close friends), and the other i want to clip small parts off (mainly people in less clothing or nude that i don't want everybody to see)

How can i accomplish this so that the "sensored" version uses the parts of the non-sensored and i don't need two different streams using mainly the same material?

You can't do seamless branching with any application available to us simple people. Here's a guide (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/Seamless_Branching.htm) that explains how to do non-seamless branching with Scenarist. The guide covers entire DVD backup, you only need the authoring part (step 4). Basically, you have to make the parts to be censored into separate scenes on a video track. Then you create two PGCs, one containing the full video, and another with G-rated scenes only (i.e. censored version). When playing the censored version, you'll experience small pauses at the places where scenes were cut out - this is a non-seamless transition.

Since you're new to the subject, I have to warn you that this is relatively advanced stuff.

If you have enough space on your dvd (depends on the length of the movie) you can also do it non seamless with any authoring tool. Just create two pieces of movie. 1 unsensored and 1 sensored. Put them both on the dvd.

This is probably much easier if you're unexperienced, but it all depends on the space that is required.

Yes, the problem is that i don't have enough space in one DVD to fit two pieces of mainly same material to it.
And it basicly feels like waste of space or DVDs to make two films almost exactly same content.

So non-seamles branching is the way ill go, since i can live with small pauses.

Only have to get myself a copy of Scenarist somehow, and understand the guide

Well it's not that difficult, with a decent set of brains you can manage :D
