Codec Pack for Wm9.

Which one do i choose? I have removed WMP and i am only using MPC.

There are 3 different codec pack,

WM VCM
WM Codec for WMP 7,8,9
WM Codec For WMP 6.4

WHich one do i need?

i assume all should work to play all wm9 files in directshow

Don't be so quick with the assumptions. Codec packs for "WMP 6.4" Are going to be quite old and will not contain the necessary decoders. The VCM one is mainly for VFW encoding and decoding and should not be used in place of the directshow AX. As such the one for WMP 7,8, and 9 would probably be the one to use. But the whole talk of codec packs is making me nervous. Once MPC is installed I have found it easiest to download the codec archive from http://www.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design6/dload.html and install the dlls I need in the windows system32 directory. A simple cut and paste operation. Using the codec archives there you should be able to decode WM9 QT6 and RV10 all without installing Quictime or real player.

Neo Neko the link you posted goes to a page that has downloads for a linux media player. But then you talk about dropping the dlls into your windows32 folder. Am I reading this correctly ?

I want to install as many codecs as I can for WMP9 and MPC. Where is a good place to look ?

Yes, the player is using windows dlls.

Go to http://gordianknot.sourceforge.net/ and look for the codec pack.
