When I install FFDShow (after XviD)
I have strange problems with explorer.exe.
When I click on any video file in WinExplorer the whole explorer.exe crashes,
drwtsn32.exe starts and closes after a short time and
then explorer.exe restarts.
When I uninstall FFDShow and decode with XviD 1 RC4 it work fine.
Someone having the same problems?

wierd, and if you play the files in a player with dshow, do they work correctly?

I can't even get that close to play a file.
Cause it is enough to click only once on the file and explorer.exe crashes.
I didn't try to load the file in the Video Player and look if the explorer.exe crashes than too, but if it is important to know I'll try that.

well open your favourite dshow player on its own, and go to the "open file" option and open your files ;)

I can play the files. Explorer is restarted in XP (and also the lower taskbar), but the applications remains opened, including MPC.
I think I get this behaviour only with mpeg files, but more experimentation is needed because is not a constant behaviour.

because if I accidently click on one video file the WinExplorer closes and
I have to browse again to the path were I were.
So for now I stay with the XviD decoder and when a new FFDShow is out I will try again.
just saw the new version of FFDShow: 18.04.2004 but now I can't configure it because an error appears when I try to open the configure window.

i assume its possible somewhere in windows to disable this preview option
