ignoring the inherent instability of hard disc

would a internal hard disc attached with an extrenal casing less prone to virus attacks/corruption ( hard disk attached by firwire to notebook)

AS COMPARED TO an internal hard disc within the PC

I do not believe there would be any difference.

Remember, there is no substitute for a good antivirus program and proper backups.

Absolutely not. A virus doesn't enter your HD through the case or something :p :D

As soon as a HD is somehow connected and working it is completely the same for any program and/or virus!
