Menu works in sim but on DVD nothing...

I have a main menu and a sub menu in scenarist. The sub menu used to be the main menu and works fine, I created a new menu in this old project to make a new section on the DVD and it works fine in the simulation but when I burn it the selection highlites dont show up.
Its a motion menu that i put 2 chapters in so I would have an intro to the new menu and if you click on one of the 2 buttons you get an outro that leads you to the old menu. The other button just jumps you to the new section with no outro. The loop of the middle chapter works fine on the burned DVD but I cant see the selected buttons. Even if i click around and try pressing enter nothing happens, its like the buttons are gone.
Any ideas on this? I rebuilt this project a few times following a few different tutorials and still the same problem. I deleted the track of that menu and re built it and nothing. I even started a whole new project and tried to rebuild it with the same problem. Is there something im missing if there are to be 2 menus? Both of them are motion menus.

It sounds like a hightlight problem. Do I understand that the buttons worl, but you don't see them? So you know you can press a button and if you do so the desired action takes place, but you just don't see the button? Or they are not there and there's no action either?
