Hi, I downloaded an AVI with external subtitle files idx/sub. I encoded the AVI to SVCD but now want to add the subtitle stream. How do I do this? Do I need to add this during the encoding? or do I do this now during the muxing or CD image creation process.
Thanks

I didnīt play too much with subs (my settop is unable to manage true SVCD subs) but I know "the theory":
You have both options:
- Permanent Subs:
Subs are part of the video, so you need to reencode.
Fully compatible with all settops. (Really, there are no subs)
You cannot turn off the subs.
- SVCD subs.
Subs are a different stream.
Use WinSubMux to multiplex them. (Take a look to a D2S logfile)
In any case AVI2SVCD does all the job for you. Are you using it? (I've never used AVI2SVCD with an external sub, but the option is there)

Hi, I am using DVD2SVCD. I converted the AVI to SVCD and now want to add the sub file. What do I need to modify in my D2S log to add in the perminant subs?
Thanks
EDIT: Found out where to add it in DVD2SVCD but get this error 'List index out of bounds' when trying to add them.

Seems the best you can do is post your logfile in DVD2SVCD basic forum.
