Ogg Vorbis codec not installed ? But I got OggDS0995.exe !

Hello,

I got the DirectShow Ogg Vorbis filter collection 0.9.9.5 from Tobias.

It works fine for everything but for one .ogm file. GSpot 2.21 tells me :
Audio Format:
Code: 0x674f
Name: WAVE_FORMAT_OGG_VORBIS_1
Vendor: Ogg Vorbis

Gspot was unable to find an audio codec which will decompress this audio format.

If you have a problem with a 0x674f or 0x6771 file, the solution is to try Ogg Vorbis CODEC for MSACM. But warning, there is at least two different versions and you have to try them both!

Also, this solution might also work for the following codecs: 0x6750, 0x6751, 0x676f, 0x6770.

I do not understand why it tells me this... the rendering is successful but the playing crashes WMP. Have you try OggDS 0.9.9.6?

I think that you don't have ogm file, but avi file with ogg wave audio format. You have to search for this type of audio system codec, and this is not oggDS. I have one on my computer, but I downloaded this about 2 years ago so I don't remember source.

No, I don't think that coreVorbis will help. This is acm codec (like for instance IMA ADPCM), and you can get it from here (http://download.softpedia.com:8080/MULTIMEDIA/AUDIO/vorbis_acm.zip)

Thank you Asmodeus. I haven't tried your link, but I tried the acm codec from here :

Now GSpot recognizes there is the right codec for the file, the rendering is still successful, but the playing with WMP9 is still corrupted.

.ogg, .ogm, .avi, .wav or...?

Amour, can I recomend you to test the file in the link posted by Asmodeus?.

In a AVI with acm vorbis audio, the last version of the acm_vorbis file (0.0.3.6) doesn't works for me. The version linked by Asmodeus (0.0.3.1) works.

All the others give me really corrupt audio (it sounds like it's underwater).

You would need to have the same version that was used to encode. Probably the best thing to do if you come across such an avi is to simply delete it.

If you want to use vorbis, use a Aotuv or Lancer build with quality based encoding and go with mkv or ogm as a container. Vorbis ACM is based on way old libvorbis and from recollection tries to be CBR. You would get better quality using lame and less problems.

It's an AVI file and GSpot v2.70a tells it's 0x6771 (Ogg Vorbis 3 PLUS).

No video & no sound with:
* VLC (VLC isn't the ultimate solution for everything)

No sound with:
* CoreVorbis from free-codecs (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/CoreVorbis.htm)
* Directshow Filters for Ogg Vorbis from illiminable (http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/) or free-codecs (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Filters_for_Ogg_Vorbis_Speex_Theora_and_FLAC.htm)
* Ogg DirectShow Filters 0.9.9.6 from Nic's (http://nic.dnsalias.com/OggDS0996_inst.zip) or free-codecs (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Ogg_DirectShow_Filters.htm)

Grabish, earache, corrupted unrecognizable sound with:
