Hi guys,
I made a project some time ago in scenarist 2.6 and now have to back in and update somethings. After I did this I could do everything but burn my DVD. Can I output an image file to burn in a burning program?
If so how?
Thanks a mill

Yes, in the Layout Editor you can choose to create either DVD Video (file mode) or Disc Image (ISO image). You can burn either with most of the burning programs like Nero. Don't forget to clear the checkbox Delete When Done on the DVD Root Directory line.

do you mean in step 2? I dont see anything that says what mode or what i am creating. I see that the directories I created have a folder called 0 which has the video and audio TS and mux data that has some vob files in it. I dont see any ISO image though. I want to create a enhanced DVD also. Where do i find out how its being rendered?
Thanks again

No, I'm talking about step 3 in Layout Editor (I'm working with ver. 2.7 Pro). Step 3 is the one that has button Start that actually builds the DVD in one of three ways available - DVD Video, Image, and Premastering.

The image is placed into folder specified as Target Directory in step 2. I believe the file is always called DiscImage.dvd.

VIDEO_TS folder contains DVD file structure, which you can burn just as well as an image file provided you checked the box Create DVD Video.

When you set the format to Enhanced DVD in Step 1, it enables PC Files Directory box in Step 2, where you select a folder with any programs/data you want added to the image.

You can delete the mux folder unless you're positive you need these VOBs for some purpose.

That must be a new thing in that version. All I get is "cant find scsi devices" in the drop down list on #3 premastering. I do see a file called discimage.dvd. Is that the burnable file since I dont have the 3 options in #3? if so what could i use to burn it? B's gold and Easy cd/dvd dont recognise it or rather just burns it as a data file. I tried burning the video_ts folder and it works on the desktop but not the settop/stand alone player. I think scenarist is up to 3.? and Im afraid to upgrade with such a big gap and possibly screw up my project. This thing is due monday :(

Okay, even though you have an older version, you should be fine. Rename the DiscImage.dvd file to .iso and burn it. For example, in Nero v.6 go to menu Recorder – Burn Image, and select the image file. Then in Burn Compilation dialog box change CD Image to DVD Image using pop-down box, check Finalize DVD, and burn.

If you want to burn VIDEO_TS folder, open new DVD-Video compilation (not DVD-ROM!) and drag-and-drop VIDEO_TS folder from the explorer to the root of the compilation. The folder will be highlighted in red. This way your disk will play in a standalone.

On a side note, I know that some people say Nero is no good burning program while others say it’s the best, but it appears everyone agree that Easy CD/DVD is definitely among the worst ones, so I can't tell you how to burn that stuff with it. Don’t know about B’s gold.

Scenarist is indeed up to ver.3, but reportedly it’s not much more advanced than 2.7 and have some bugs to be worked out. Yet to try myself.

thanks alot dude, I give all this a try when i figure out how to make this new part fit in. Its already close to the edge I may have to re-encode everything smaller.
Thanks again.
