is there already a sort of manual on the new version?
haven't been able to compress a menu succesully so far, and think i have to blame myself ;)
one the script has been loaded in scenarist, nothing more happens. do i have to select the destination folders manually and then press the build options?
thx a lot,

Yes a manual for Numen4u scenarist version would be great, like explaining all the settings,

in the pipeline - getting the app to work properly is the most important part.
As a brief synopsis you don't really need to change any settings, just use default. The CCE encoder options are really for advanced users. Your only real choice is whether you want to use CCE or Rejig as your video compressor. If Rejig is required then you must copy Rejig.exe into the NuMenu4u installation folder. Choose your compression percentage by use of the slide bar (under encoder tab). Audio leave as default. optional settings in the Default Tab as follows:
Move Temp files - moves all files to a temporary folder leaving just
a Video_Ts folder in the working Dir.
Minimize Apps - obvious
Close NuMenu4u - the app will close after processing
Log File - to help with debugging
Menu Threshold - set whatever figure you like here, any menu under
this size will be processed
Copy Files - copies all unprocessed menu files and ifo's, bups to the
working Dir
Integrate with DIF4U - this is usefull if you want to run NuMenu4u
before DIF4U.
Min to system tray - obvious
Default Language - if there are more than 1 language menu available
in the menu, then whatever your preffered language is will be
chosen by default (if it exists - otherwise English is the default)
Save Settings - obvious
Pause - this will stop the program before the encoding takes place.
If you are using CCE this is useful so that you can check the AVS
scripts to ensure that the correct one has been selected
Min CCE - this will run CCE from the system tray instead of 'in your
face'
Avisynth tab:
Change the AVS scripts if you want.
If you are running avisynth 2.5+ then always select dvd2avidg.
Deinterlace scripts is used for PAL projects
Scenarist tab:
Here you choose how much work scenarist is to do. if running via
DIF4U then full compile is automatically selected.
Full control - will import script and instruct scenarist to reauthor
then close
No scenarist - script will be created only, manual import is required
Import script - the script will be imported, then NuMenu4u will close
Import script, close - script is imported, 'import succesful' box
closed, then NuMenu4u will close
Instruct - script is imported and authoring started, but scenarist
will not close afterwards, NuMenu4u will close
To begin:
set your preferred settings, encoder, one pass or multi pass (if cce)
preferred scenarist option. Then either accept the default output
location for the working dir or press the 'save' button to select
a new output location
if full scenarist compile is chosen (default) then if all has run
correctly you should have a video_ts folder with every **_0.VOB,
ifo and bup file on the disc.
if not then there will be a couple of bat files created. one will
automate the import process, the other will update the ifo's after
scenarist has compiled. This is important! This bat file will need
to be changed if you have changed either the output location in
scenarist or unmounted the image and remounted on a different drive
you should be able to open the video_ts folder in windvd or powerdvd
to verify that the menues are working correctly.
after succesful finishing of NuMenu4u there will be a new folder at
the root of your hard drive called (eg c:\*****_Temp), this
contains all temp files used. to recompile just transfer all the
files back into the working dir and open the scn file.
Hope this gets you started
