51% paper based blu-ray media.

Sony and TOPPAN PRINTING CO., Japan, announced new blu-ray media that utilizes 51% paper. Details to be released April 18-21 at the Optical Data Storage 2004 conference in Monterrey, CA, USA.

cool. how long do they last? i guess we'll be finding that out when they give details.

it's a step in the right direction though. computer junk is becoming as big an environmental disaster as plastic shopping bags (which they're phasing out in my country, in favour of cloth bags.)

I imagine they probably break easier, so you have to buy replacements for discs the kids break more often. Now that wouldn't have any part of the decision now, would it? ;)
