qulaity improvment with kvcd.net quantization matrix ???

Hello,

I'm using CCE to encode my DVD's and I saw on www.kvcd.net they found a way to put " 6 hours video of near DVD quality on a single DVD-R " , I tried their quantization matrix but I'm a bit sceptic about it especially on the "near dvd quality" statement. Does somenone already tried this quantization matrix and really end up with these six hours in near DVD quality ? And someone who know about quantization matrix could try an explanation ?

I did 20h on a DVD with AVAMAT4. Just for fun. I did the whole 24 Season 1 so on a DVD. Yes I tried also KVCD Matrix, but this matrix don't did it. Now I've AVAMAT6 released. With this matrix I get better quality than with KVCD. For the 20h DVD I used TMPGENC and MPEG1 so this is a little of topic.

To get 6 Hours on one DVD is possible. For this I used min 500 avg 2500 max 3000 and AVAMAT6 in Onepass VBR with Q 35. I had to reencode the AC3 Streams with 224 kbps. If You want I can post the settings for CCE SP 2.67 Trail
