Does anyone know what means Blanking Function ??
The greatest limitation that CCE has is encoding fading videos.

New EclCCE is in the works.

"Blanking function" is the ability to "Letterbox" (left, top, right, bottom) in CCE. There's a new "Blanking..." button in Video settings. Pretty simple, still better done in AVISynth.

And what limitation with fading videos are you talking about?

In some videos , when the image is fading you can see some blocks!!
But i read the CCE 2.67 guide (released now) and they use a Quantizer characteristics diferent !! It could be it !! I normaly use 16 !! And they say to use 27-30 !!

I released EclCCE v1.81 with support for CCE-SP 2.67.00.27.

Good news: CCE-SP 2.67.00.27 finally fixes the infamous memory leaks with AVISynth scripts. No more memory leaks when repeatedly opening file settings dialog (chapter setting), no more memory leaks during multipass encoding. No AddAudio() tricks necessary anymore

Yes, a too low setting for quantizer characteristics (Flat Part Priority in CCE 2.50) definitely causes problems with fade effects and can also cause color banding. About 40-50% of the available range for this setting (0-100 for CCE 2.50, 0-64 for CCE 2.66/2.67) is what I recommend.

Do you Know why the best settings are between 27-30 ? Did they made some tests about it ??

It's from experience. At bitrates above 3000 kbps, this range is optimal IMHO. Of course, try for yourself.

With a value of 16 sometimes i see some mosquito noise. I´m gonna try the optimal values

I´ve tried the Doom9´s settings of CCE 2.67 in Matrix Revolutions and it was awesome. Fantastic Image at a Q=25.
I´ve tried to spot some changes comparing with the original, mas its exactly the same. Fantastic.
From now on i´me gonna use Quantizer characteristics =27

Remember cce defaults settings are Quantizer charateristics:16-40 (it is said in the manual if you use high bitrate, increasing Quantizer may improve quality) and Bias:30. I did one encode with dvd-rb now default settings (16, 25) at average 2500kb/s (animatrix) and it looked great, obviously it was progressive...

I don´t use DVD-Rebuilder. I only use one pass.

You can alter the bias in OPV by saving the ecl file, then editing it with Notepad (for example). There should be a line with the vbr_bias value on it. Change that to your liking, save the ecl file and open it in CCE.

VBR Bias only applies to multipass VBR, no influence on OPV. This is also in the manual.
