I have home movies in .avi format that I saved to my harddrive from my digital camera and I want to burn them on my DVD+R 4x disk to share with my family, any recommendation what software will accomplish this by letting me import the .avi file and burn it to DVD+R 4x disk and still let it be able to playback on most Stand alone DVD Players

Thanks for any help :D

hi em you should have a look at the conversion part of the guides. you cant put an avi on a dvd to play on a standalone it has to be converted. look around for mpeg 2 converters.

You should team up with this guy (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&postid=475900) and start learning the DVD basics from the beginning. And the best place to start is by reading the guides (http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm).

A good all-in-one solution for your needs would be Adobe Encore DVD - you can just import your avis, make nice menus if you like (don't have to) the built-in Mainconcept MPEG encoder is pretty good.

However that proggie is a little pricy (around 550-600 Euro in Germany) ...
