Why doesn't TMPGEnc recognize 15 fps AVI?

Hi,
I have taken a few movie clips with my digital still camera (Canon A70). I am trying to convert these to VCD. I tried opening the files in TMPGEnc (version 2.59.47.155) but I get a message that file aaabbb.avi can not open, or unsupported.

The video clips I have taken are 15 fps. I can watch these clips using almost any programme such as WMP9, real player, power DVD and ... so I do not think it is a codec problem.

Anyway, I would very much appreciate any help regarding this little problem of mine.

i doubt its anything to do with the framerate probably something to do with the makeup of the .avi itself. Try this...

1. Download avisynth http://www.avisynth.org/
2. Create a notepad file containing this on the first line...

AviSource("C:\xxx")

where xxx is the path of your avi file

3. save the notepad file
4. change the extension of the notepad file from .txt to .avs
5. open the .avs file in tmpg

As far as I know the A70 uses MJPEG for movies. You could try to install the Morgan MJPEG-Codec (www.morgan-multimedia.com (http://www.morgan-multimedia.com)) and try to open your file again.
