Problems with "Fast Forward" in some movies

I have noticed that some downloded video files (different formats; avi, mpeg, wmv etc) can not be "fast forwarded" by using the slider bars in various players (e.g. media player, divX player etc).

If I attempt to move the bar, the movie restarts from the beginning :(.

Are those files corrupted or just encoded differently so that "fast forward" is not possible?

First of all check out Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm) (Especially # 6). As far as you are against forum rules, no one will help you. :(

I am not sure that I understand your comment? Rule #6:
6) No warez, cracks, serials or illegally obtained copyrighted content! Links to content of a questionable nature, asking for, offering, or asking for help/helping to process such content in any way or form is not tolerated.

I was not asking for warez or cracks or illegaly obtained copyrighted content... Simply trying to understand why I am having problems with my video files. I posted my question on another Forum, and after a lot of discussions, it appears that several of my files are corrupt, and therfore do not play properly...

Try my front-end. It can correctly play some media files that WMP has problems with.
