hi..

just wondered if anybody knows of a SIMPLE program to help me shrink down the film size to about 1400 and still keep the quality

If you mean 1400MB that won't be possible.

what i'm after is somethnig simple... to be able to shrink down a film... so you are able to get about 3 on one dvd but still keep the quality...???

any ideas :confused:

That is impossible. The only way you could do it was to use MPEG-4, which wouldn't play on a standard DVD player.

Most Transcoders won't even allow you to compress so much, unless you do it more than once. I have compressed extras twice on a DVD (using deep analysis each time with Shrink) to give more space to the film. Doing it aymore makes them unwatchable. Most people won't even do them twice.

Most films will use 300 to 500MB just for the audio (DD 5.1).
