Hey I finally found out how to get my PC to tell me the XviD version I have installed:

But I wonder if this info could not be made available so that when I watch an XviD rip and go to codec info it simply tells me on the About tab - at least this would tell me the current XviD codec in place.
If some way of displaying the XviD codec used to create the current video stream could also be found, so much the better.
DivX offers the former but not the latter.
cheers
