Hi guys,

hope someone can help me with this.

I altered a menu background to include a new text+button for an additional subtitle track for the movie.

Basically what I did was rip out the background with MenuEdit, alter it in Photoshop, compile a new menu vob using Maestro, replace this with the original menu cell in Menuedit, work the buttons a little, and update the ifo's with IfoEdit.

There seems to be a problem with the VOBU alteration when I do the strip step for the menu extra's.

Doing this will give me a new vts_01_0.ifo, vts_01_0.bup, and vts_01_0.vob

All the streams accessed in the menu are within vts_01_0.vob, so I shouldn't need to replace my original vob with the corrected vob (According to the MenuEdit website).
However just using ifo and bup file, will make my menu stall when going to a lower level of the extra's. When accessing this the menu will start with a movie (which is in the vob)and then goes to the still menu. However now the transition between the movie an the still doesn't work anymore. It stalls at the end of the movie, and the only way I can get it to continue to the still is to use "FF" or "next" buttons. The menu itself does work after I bypassed the stall, so it's just the transition.

Well, why don't I just replace the original VOB with the corrected vob. If I do that, the extra's will work like a charm, so I need the corrected vob to match the VOBU pointers in the ifo. But in this vob, the cell I replaced starts acting up. The button will be available for about a half a second, and then will be gone for about 2 seconds, and the re-appear to do the same over and over again. It looks like the cell keeps rebooting itself.

Long story, so I hope it still makes sense, so that's why I'll quickly recap:

- Using only the altered IFO's will result in a working replaced cell, but messes up movie-2-still transitions in other places of the menu
- Using the altered VOB as well as the altered IFO's will result in a looping replaced cell, but the rest of the menu will work as normal.

Off course both problems don't happen when I try it on my PC.

Any tips/pointers are highly appreciated.

A little more information. If I the menu ifo's before and after stripping, I notice the following:

In VTSM_PGCI_UT the subtitle menu information has changed for Cell1 (which is the correct vob id)

Title Old New
Playback time 00:00:30:00/30 fps 00:00:00:12/ 30 fps
Entry sector 27412 27412
Start sector of last VOBU 27898 27412
Last sector of this cell 27907 27526

I have no idea if the cell entries have any influence(seeing as they probably should have changed because the menu is a different size now), but I can figure out myself that the playbacktime is f*cked.

I'm changed it manually and did a "Get VTS Sectors" on the original ifo, but no joy there.

But what worries me (and why I think it still won't work) is that the 00,12 seconds was extracted by IfoEdit from the VOB file itself.
But if I use the unstripped vob-file the playback of that specific cell is without problems. So something seem to get really messed up when I strip the Menu Extra's in IfoEdit.

Probably found the problem. I tried ripping the original menu and the new menu's apart to compare the m2v files. WHile doing this, I suddenly noticed that the orignal menu had a .ac3 soundtrack. I forgot to include that in my custom menu *doh*.

Seems that it's working now, but still gotta do a full menu testing tonight to see it it still stall on menu loops etc.

Is there somewhere in the ifo where you can view the cell properties to see if it contains music etc.????
