Please, how do I configure dvd2svcd to get permanent subtitles just for the second stream on a svcd movie? When permanet subtitle is chosen the option to put the subs on the first or second audio stream is disabled.
eg: I use portuguese as the first audio stream and english as the second. I want the subs (portuguese) just for the second audio stream (english).
Thank you

Hi Paulo Quines,
Permanent subtitles are coded in the video. That means, they are part of the image and cannot be disabled.
You have to use SVCD subitles, but not all players are able to manage them. In any case, the activation/deactivation of subs are not related with the audio track.

Thank you for your reply.
That's what I want to do. I want my subtitles as being part of the file and therefore being not possible to deactivate them. However I want to have two audio streams: one in portuguese and other in english. As I understood you say that once I have permanent subtitles I am going to see them no matter what audio stream I choose. Is that right?
About the standalone players which can handle the subs I am waiting to buy a DivX compliant one when it gets being sold in Brazil. It's a shame but we, in Brazil, need to wait a long time to have what you guys have months before.

Another thing you have to check is if your settop is able to manage two audio tracks. You can look for the reports of your brand/model in vcdhelp.com (http://www.dvdrhelp.com/dvdplayers)

Hi!
I have tried to change the position of the subtitles on my svcd movie with no success. I have changed the numbers but it seems the results are always the same. I have checked the DVD movie on my dvd standalone player and the subtitles are on the bottom of the screen. It doesn't interfere with the image. However on my svcd movie the subtitles are almost in the middle of the screen.
What those numbers mean (Y-Pos -1 and 400 for NTSC and -1 and 480 for PAL) on the subtitle panel on dvd2svcd?
What should I change if I want the subtitles positoned clser to the bottom of the screen?
Thank you:confused:

A search on subtittles+position will give you the answer, specifically

Paulo Quines, try this, bring up preview from the Go button in the conversion tab. Then, leaving the preview window up, go to the subs tab and start incrementing the "Std Y-Pos" tab. You will see the subs move position on the preview. Be careful about getting them too low as you may be getting down to the overscan area that your tv will not show. I suppose doing this in combination with FACAR resizing, which crops overscan, might be something you want to explore. Dunno, for sure.
