hm parametric stereo is more suited for very low bitrates (max 48kbps?) so i dont think it will be much use for us backup people :(

but as a technology its surely interesting

you can find more about this if you follow the link in todays news. bond is correct, PS won't be very useful for us, but there are other upcoming improvements that will be interesting, especially for multichannel encoding.
