First of all, I live in the US and don't want to pay large amounts of shipping for exotic EU products. I am looking for a standalone DVD player with these features:
-Component video output (Progressive scan)
-Optical and SPDIF audio out
-Plays XviD with AC3 soundtrack in AVI (I'm not sure which profiles I need to use)
-Semifrequent firmware updates from manufacturer
I should mention that this is going to be my only DVD player, so it should be pretty good at playing DVDs too.
I found http://www.mtsbs.com/product.asp?0=200&1=201&3=8 from google searching, which is the KiSS DP-450, but I think I heard bad things about the KiSS players from quick searching of doom9. My price limit is $200.
People seem to like the "Elta 8883", but I cannot find anywhere to purchase it. Thanks for your recommendations.
