As a newbie and do not understand many of the "techy" words used in the other forums.
I have a CD with a "The Cat in The Hat" movie on it, but will not play on my stand alone DVD player, but will play on my PC (CD-DVD rom).
5 folders on the CD...1)EXT (scandata)..2) MPG2(AVSEQ01)...3) Segment (empty) and SVCD (6 files).
I have DVD Crypter, DVD Shrink and IMAGE Tool. My burning software is currently Easy CD Creator 5.xx.
I have been able to back up my DVD's ok..due to help in this Forum.
In Newbie language please help.
Thank you.

what you are dealing with here is a normal SVCD. both SVCD and DVD are mpeg2 format video, but they are burnt on different types of media (CD vs DVD) and therefore the quality is quite different.

anyway, you should be able to back this up by doing a normal 1:1 copy of the CD.

if you really want to put it on DVD, take a look at doom9's format conversation guides!
