Patents in the EU revisited!

The patent issue in the E.U. is unfortunately far from over:

hmm. i'm not a member of the EU. does that bar me from signing the petition? i'd imagine it would though i'm not sure (i certainly wouldn't want a petition on a local matter signed by people not directly affected by the issue).

although software patents do affect everyone and if this precedent is made it could pave the way for other countries to implement software patents... hmm.
