I read a lot this forum but i still have a doubt: for my backup i have Doitfast4U,BatchCCEWS(with CCE standard) and NuMenu4U.What else i need?It seems to me that a dvd authotiting program is missing,am i wrong?Which program do you think i should use?Re-Authoritist,Scenaid or Scenarist will satisfy this need?

hi chief,
well i suggest reading a few of the guides avaliable at doom9 to gain a clear understanding of the process involved. check out this one for instance:
Full DVD Backup guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ra-guide.htm)
but...
yes you will need sonic scenarist, which is a high-end authoring program, to use these apps.
as for ReAutorist and Scenaid. these applications take all of the hard work out of re-authoring your demuxed/re-encoded dvd, by writing a 'script (.scp)' for you which is then imported into scenarist. you can use either of these programs to perform this task, however Scenaid is the only program which is currently still being developed.
good luck with your reading

Ok,i read many times that guide but still can't understand a thing:i mounted the image of the files decrypted with DVD Decrypter on a virtual drive. Then i follow the guide but after NuMenu4u finished, again DVD Decrypter strarts automatically demuxing my movie when i already have those files on my HD:why?I see that the extension of the new-decrypted file is m2v what does it mean?

Just another little small thing:i use BatchCCEWS instead DoCCE4U but Reauthoritist doesn't recognize it,is there a way to solve the little problem? If not i turn to DoCCE4U...

Hi,
Menu4U reencode only the menu of your dvd. After this process, DIF4U run another time DVD Decrypter to demux the movie on your hdd. That's why you have a m2v file which is the video stream of the movie while the ac3 file is your audio stream.
For BatchCCEWS, nothing abnormal. Just replace the DoCCE4U executable with the BCCEWS executable you renamed before.

by mounting your .iso image in daemon tools, you create an exact 'virtual' copy of your disc from which to work from. this has the advantage of less wear and tear on your dvd rom drive plus if you make any errors at any stage of the process, the required files are easily obtained from the image.
in addition it is also the preferred medium from which the 'big 3' apps like to work from.

now in very simplistic terms what the tools do are:

numenu4u will re-encode your menu vobs, using cce (cinema craft encoder), to a smaller size
doitfast4u will demux your movie/extras vobs into their elementary streams (that is, video - .m2v, audio - .ac3, and subtitles, .idx)(note: yes, i know i am simplifying things here....)
docce4u/batchcce is a front end for cce which will re-encode your video (m2v) files so that they are smaller (as the desired end result is to fit our dvd onto a single layer disc)
RA/Scenaid will write a script file to import out assets into scenarist.
Scenarist will then 'put it all back together again'
then ifoupdate is used to update the navigation ifos
then imgtool classic is used to create an iso image of our final files so that dvddecrypter can burn this image onto a blank disc.

hope that helps

doesnt matter..reauthorist will still create the docce text file...just import it manually into batchccews

Everything went ok!Thanks everybody for the help! Now i have other few questions(::D ):
1)what's the difference to use Reauthorist or Scenaid?
2)if i would like to insert my own audio file, not the demuxed one, what should i do and at which point of the procedure leaving it as most automatic as possible?
3)If i would like to use setting of CCE different from those of BatchCCEWS how can i do it ,agin leaving the whole procedure automatic?
4)After DoItFast4U has demuxed needed files from my mounted-on-the-virtual-drive-image,can i delete the image file to save 8GB of space?
5)In whic order are more important doing this job the frequency of the CPU,RAM speed, amount of RAM and HDD reading time?
Many thanks!

HI
1)what's the difference to use Reauthorist or Scenaid?
-Scenaid has the advantage to create script from vobid demuxed dvd while RA dont. RA is only recommended for pgc precessing.

2)if i would like to insert my own audio file, not the demuxed one, what should i do and at which point of the procedure leaving it as most automatic as possible?
-If you mean you would like to insert transcoded audio with BeSweet (in case you want to save more space) just rename your audio file same as the original ac3 file. Delete RA log and move (or rename it) your original ac3 file(s).

3)If i would like to use setting of CCE different from those of BatchCCEWS how can i do it ,agin leaving the whole procedure automatic?
-No need to worry about BCCEWS or DOCCE settings. Thay're right for most projects to not tell all projects.

4)After DoItFast4U has demuxed needed files from my mounted-on-the-virtual-drive-image,can i delete the image file to save 8GB of space?
-It's not recommended because if you need the original ifo/bup or vob you can copy them quickly from virtual drive.

5)In whic order are more important doing this job the frequency of the CPU,RAM speed, amount of RAM and HDD reading time?
-CCE needs a good cpu and 512mb of ram to be safe. HDD reading time is negligible.

Well i mangaed to use my audio file instead of the demuxed one and everything went ok.Now i would like to use Scenaid but which is my demux folder? The one where is the m2v file?In my working directory ther are e lot of sub-directory:

D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name

D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name\VIDEO_TS
this contain some ifo and bup files

D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name\VTS01
this contain the following subdirectories

D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name\VTS01\Movie name
this contain the following subdirectories

D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name\VTS01\Movie name\VIDEO_TS
this contain other ifo and bup files that are equal in size to the first ones

D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name\VTS01\Movie name\VTS01
this contain a 5 GB m2v file,a 4 GB mpv file(the demux and the re-encoded one,i think),some mpv,vif file named dummy 16:9 or 4:3,a lot of log files by reauthorist,cce,doitfast4u and Numenu4u and also the directories:SUBS and "working directory"cache

Are all normal or did i set some incorrect parametrs in one of those programs?

thats a lot of sub-folders you have there chief :D
i usually start the process with DIF4U as the controlling program for the other apps, and in the 'working directory' section of the main program window, i set a new folder for each new project that is a derivation of the dvd name.
eg. if i was backing up spiderman, i would create a folder via DIF4U called 'SPIDEY' and set DIF4U to 'autocreate all folders for this dvd'
in your example, i assume that the 'browse folder' required by Scenaid would be 'D:\"Working Directory"\Movie name\VTS01\Movie name' although its got me confused as to how you have managed to create all those additional folders
let me know how you go
cheers

Yeah
the easier way to get right folders is to tick only "Create DVD Dir using DVD Volume" and "Autocreate all folders for this dvd".
You have to demux your dvd with dif4u at the roots of your working drive. In this way, DIF4U will create a dir called "name_of_your_dvd_volume" and will create the subdir with.
The other way is to create manually a folder with the name of your dvd volume and demux your dvd in. But you have to deselect "Create DVD Dir using DVD Volume". If not your project will be like this : "DVD_VOLUME\DVD_VOLUME\VTSxx" instead of "DVD_VOLUME\VTSxx"

Usign that directory everything seems to go well,i'm reauthoriting with scenarist now.You say that you create a subdirectory for every movie you backup but i obtained all those subdir. backuping just one movie!
