After what seems like weeks of heavy testing the latest incarnation of this project is now available for beta testing.

Note: at the present time only CCE 2.6+ is supported. Do not use 2.5
To use rejig copy into install dir.

Report bugs and suggestions to this post please, so that we can all benefit.

http://numenu4u.users.btopenworld.com/setup.exe

Thanks to the collaboration of D3s7 the scenarist control appears to be working well, an import text file will be created in the project folder. This is to assist in import fixing.

There has been a great deal of difficulty in getting the button contrast as close to the original as possible. Again offer your suggestions.

You will see from the import that the PGC's are recreated exactly in the Scenario, including all command structures. This is to assist in command bug fixing (there is no other way for me to tell that the button commands have been recreated exactly). You should find as near as possible that the menues will play in the scenario.

My main concern at this time is the actual button creation. Scenarist is very picky, and if the cell boundaries are off by even 1 frame the buttons may not actually be created in the output VOB, even though they are in the scenario. Another Scenarist quirk!

I have tested this with DIF4U and there seems to be no problems.

I would like to be the first to say GREAT JOB!!

I know I've tested on 2 menu's so far that had been problems with other builds (Abyss SE and Xmen-2) and both work perfectly now.

Just for everyone elses knowledge as well... Rejig works but don't expect as much of a size savings as you'll get w/ CCE.

So far I've done most my menus at about 1400 w/ 4-5 passes and they look great.

i would also like to offer my congratulations!

all i can say is ...WOW!

the fact that you even attempted to reconfigure NUMenu4U to utilise Scenarist is a feat worthy of admiration. to actually pull it off ... well, i hope that you finally receive some due 'reward' for your effort.

and to all the developers of these fantastic programs that comprise 'the big 3' my deepest respect, for once again proving that, like Elvis, you are far from dead .... you had merely left the building to rewrite some code :D

You know, I just talked with Elvis (he hangs out with us while we write code) and he wasn't too keen on being lumped in with the Big3 programmers, but due to fact that Big3 is making it big in Memphis, he says he can overlook it...

Great job, Zeul! Can't wait to try Finding Nemo again and see the difference!

Running it at the moment on a dvd with a 1GB viedo_ts.von and 660 MB main menu. So I'm curious about the results (this is a title which the old numenu couldn't handle, so that will be interesting).

I can't help but noticing that although I set the bitrate to be 2100, cce runs at an average of 1000 :confused:

But Zeul: very nice work so far, two tumbs up here.

ps: I wonder who's more pleased that it's reaching the final stage your wife or us :D

I received an error message:

Scenarist Version has encountered an error:
AppName: numenu4u.exe AppVer: 1.4.0.2 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.1106 Offset: 00013887

This was at some point near the end of the process I believe because the new menu VOB was constructed in the VIDEO_TS folder. I checked the output and it appears to be mostly constructed or even completely done, but some of the buttons are off (point to wrong sub-menu). I wasn't at the PC so I can't tell you exactly when it failed.

I also noticed from the Scenarist import log that it appears NuMenu is using version 3.0 (I also have 2.7 installed) I know it has problems importing scripts so I will remove it and try again with 2.7.

Wow. Zeul, this is incredible. I think you're babbling about buttons and highlight when you're asleep now, right? :)

OK, tested it with "Die Another Day" PAL R2. First got bitten by a bug in DVD2AVIdg (actually, also older versions are affected). It would crash when processing VobId 9. I identified the bug and fixed it, download fixed version (http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/dvd2avirb.zip). See also here (http://neuron2.net/ipw-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=359).

Then everything basically went without a single glitch (I have some comments below, though). The generated script was imported by Scenarist 3.0 without errors or warnings. The scenario made my head spin :), absolutely amazing.

After compiling and testing in WinDVD, I got past the language selection menu which worked fine but the main menu did not. It looked OK but no active buttons. Basically I had to edit the script to remove two subpictures, set two other ones to "no Stop" and fix their duration as well as the duration of the highlight layer. I had to do this in two tracks (the English and German main menu track), import again, compile and it worked. Maybe pictures explain it better, I'm happy to send the scripts:

Before:
http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/numenu4u/menu_before.gif

After:
http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/numenu4u/menu_after.gif

The short (1 sec.) subs in the third scene made the highligh layer "jump back" into that scene (the start time of the highlight layer was correctly set to the start time of the last scene in the script). I removed these subs in the script and also removed the display stop from the subs in the last scene, extended their duration and the duration of the highlight layer (original 00:00:03;01) to the scene duration (00:00:51;15). That fixed it. Maybe you should have a sanity check in that a scene (cell) with highlight and buttons cannot have a sub with stop and that the sub/highlight duration must be equal to the scene duration. Also it looks like forced subs "inbetween highlights" confuse Scenarist.

The complete menu seemd to work fine, although I haven't tested with the reauthored movie yet. I don't think I need a separate script for this anymore, just replace the dummies, right?

About colors and contrast: almost like in the original, but button outlines looked a little "grainy" and not as smooth as in the original. It looks like you are trying to replicate the original palette in Scenarist. Maybe a better way is to leave the original palette in the IFO alone and simply specify the original color and contrast indexes in the .SST. See this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=71986#post453866).

About CCE settings: I would suggest to not make use of the filters, they usually make the picture look worse. I would also suggest a setting for Quality Precision and GOP size. Another thing was that although I checked "Scanning Order: Alternate" in NuMenu4U, the ECLs were set up for ZigZag (alternate_scan=0). The DVD2AVI version posted above creates a log file with stream statistics (pretty much self explanatory IMHO) that you could examine to find the correct CCE settings and the correct setting for the interlaced parameter of ConvertToYUY2().

Some small bugs: although I cleared everything in AviSynth setup except for ConvertToYUY2 and AddAudio in "Footer", it still added the LoadPlugin for decomb.dll and FieldDeinterlace() to all AVS scripts. Also when you clear the "Mpeg2 Source Switches", it still adds a trailing comma after the D2V path to the Mpeg2Source() statement, causing a script error. "Pause for Script Verification" doesn't stick in the settings, it's reset with every program run.

What do you use for audio delay correction? I know BeSweet has issues, jsoto's open source delay corrector (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=71545) works very well for me.

Keep up the good work!

Updated version:

eroneous subs are not now imported
avs scripts correctly imported
deinterlace option now available
corrected chapter points with ntsc projects
corrected zigzag and alternate scan
pause for script now saved
added debug.dll (thanks to D3s7)
ecl upgraded to 1.8b
added option to minimize cce to system tray
corrected <0.4s scene errors in script

haven't been able to replicate the runtime errors so the new debug info will help.

I think I'm suffering form a wrong integration with dif4u. My menu ended up no bit smaller than the original.

Don't know what happened cause I was sleeping ;) but I think that numenu runs and that dif4u just copies over the menu files anyway.

RB
7th April 2004, 13:24
OK, tried again with the new version. Now the problematic tracks look like this:

http://home.t-online.de/home/340044300675/numenu4u/menu_v2.gif

The subs in the last scene are still wrong, their length should be equal to the scene duration (no Stop), same for the highlight layer. I do have the buttons in this menu now, but they won't highlight anymore after some seconds, of course.

The issue with FieldDeinterlace() added to the AVS scripts no matter what is fixed. Alternate scan and pause for script verification is fixed too, but just noticed that "Copy Remaining Menu Files" setting isn't saved.

EDIT: during CCE encoding, my taskbar is locked at times (Windows XP). Clicking something in the taskbar/tray doesn't do anything, eventually things will pop up all of a sudden some time later.

Thanks!

Hello everybody,

I have used the Big3 with Numenu4U for some months and it has worked almost perfectly each time. But this time, I have got a problem that I can't solve :

I have just formatted my computer and I have also reinstalled the BIG3 (Difu + batchccews + reauthorist + numenu) but now, during the step called "judging field order", Numenu freezes each time, it stays blocked each time on this step on the same M2V file (off course, the file depends of which DVD is being authored).

In my processus windows list, fieldorder.exe is using my CPU at maximum but don't do anything else, I can let my computer during 3 hours "judging the field order" and it doesn't make anything else...

How can I fix that ?

Thank you in advance.

N.B : I have tested with Numenu4U and the scenarist edition, same problem.

@matus2003 definately need that script.

@Ripe73 i have had this once myself. it seems that occasionaly dvddecrypter does not seem to close properly, so the process is still running. if the process is running (may not be visible) numenu4u will not continue. i am in the process of changing the detection method for when dvddecrypter has finished, that may help

@jel i also need that script too. you are not the first to be experiencing audio problems. i don't know whether the attributes detection is wrong (i very much doubt this, D3s7 has put a lot of work into this detection), demuxing the audio by dvd2avi is flawed, or the audio processing (was the bitrate changed, was a delay corrected etc)

@Master Yoda - will not work with cce 2.5 - the reason nearly every menu i have processed is 4:3 pan-scan. if encoded as 4:3 scenarist won't let you have wide and pan-scan subs, so the buttons would be thrown off on a widescreen tv. only cce 2.6 and above allow for pan-scan flags to be set. i don't know if there is a GPL program out there that could add the pan-scan flags afterwards. if there is let me know.

the audio is decrypted with dvd2avi not dvddecrypter because at the moment when decrypting by file mode - which must be done for menus - no audio delay is included in the filename. so dvd2avi is used instead. you should have no synch errors

The current release of DvdDecrypter does demux audio with the delay in the name, as yoda was probably eluding to. but dvd2avi does a fine job and fortunately makes it backward compatible.

I watched the program this time and figured out where the program error occured. It actually occcurs after a different error.

The initial error occurs after Scenarist finishes, the ifos are updated and it is at the stage "moving temp files" or something like that. Then a pop up box syas

Runtime Error 13 type mismatch

I then clicked onto another program and when I clicked back on Numenu (on the taskbar) to get the exact error message it generated the program error I reported earlier.

If there are any log files, or any more information you need just ask.

At this point your reauthored menu is actually complete.... instead of deleting the temp files when done this version renames so if your working dir ia MYMOVIE it will move the numenu temp files to MYMOVIE_TMP

however, if you look in MYMOVIE\VIDEO_TS, you should have your new menu file. You may need to manually copy in the remainder of the ifo's/menu files though

You are right D3s7. I checked out the results and they are almost 100% perfect. There were only 2 small problems.

1. During one of the short transition videos there appeared to be a large black, barely transparent subpicture covering almost the entire screen for part of the playback. If I compare the two menus in MenuEdit, the original is

VOBID 5:
Cell ID: 1 (1 buttons)

The Numenu is

VOBID 5:
Cell ID: 1 (1 buttons)
Cell ID: 1 (0 buttons)

The first Cell ID 1 has the obstructing subpicture (I guess, couldn't confirm it in Scenarist because I'm not familiar with enough with the menu building aspect).

2. Some menus would "loose" there buttons (and subpictures) after 3-4 seconds. This only happened on two specific menus. One of these would sometimes keep it's buttons, depending on how I got there.

The DVD I'm testing is This is Spinal Tap: Special Edition. Again, if you need any more info just ask.

@ wmansir,

the first issue sounds like an incorrect transperancy on the subpicture settings. ie the background colour is set to black and probably a contrast of 90% plus.

the second issue sounds very much like the '(with Stop)' issue that RB pointed out on the first page of this thread. it also does not surprise me that their 'activation' time appears to change depending on how you access that menu - i have noticed this also on BOV titles.

if you were up for it, you could probably fix both of these issues in scenarist by setting numenu to import the script for you, make the required changes, then run the ifoupdate .bat file following compiling.

1. locate vobid_05 in the track editor and check the subpicture settings in the simulation window, and see if the background etc are incorrectly set. change as required.

2. find the menu that is not displaying the buttons correctly in the track editor, and set all of the subpictures to (no Stop) in the property browser

I found this problem:if i use doitfast4u which launch automatically NuMenu4U scenaist version,this app. seems to crash while it's creating the scenarist script:it creates a file .scp but of only 15kb and doesn't close unless i close it manuallt even if i checked the close automatically box.

Well... this is cool

And if all of you knew the pain it is to demux all the menus, take the .ac3 and the subpicture (for the buttons) to Scenarist manually...

I have been converting PAL DVDs to NTSC DVD (menus and all) this is a great app to get started :D

I have the same problem with Donnie Darko PAL R2. The menu intro (which is also used as a transistion between submenus) is covered by a solid blue subpicture with a small "hole" for an invisible button in the lower left corner. This is in VobId 1 in VTS_01_0.VOB. Also the button highlight colors are wrong. In the original they are light-blue (almost white), in the reauthored menu they are brownish/greenish.

Another problem is with VTS_03_0.VOB menu on this DVD. The original menu VOB has 82 VobIds, but in track editor, I see only 22 tracks for VTS_3. In the reauthored menu, it seems some menus are missing. For instance selecting Extras - DVD Credits displays a still menu with a "< Extras >" selection at the lower right. Clicking any of the '<' or '>' buttons causes the player to stop whereas in the original menu it loops through several pages of DVD credits.

@RB

Please send script and relevant ifo's, plus the relevant bmp's and sst. I believe this is the first time the actual highlight colours have been incorrect, the contrast I know about.
Either there are a lot of fake vobid's in VTS_3_0.VOB or a major error has occured; this may well be an error in the script in which case scenarist often 'jumps' forward to the next 'object'. in this case the layout, hence a lot of tracks will be missed.
Mail address as per our previous pm.
It has been suggested that the highlight & sub times should be extended to the end of scene for all cells and therefore remove all stops. The problem with this is not every menu runs to the end of the scene, therefore a stop is needed. So at present i have to be guided by the sst file (If the sub is to be displayed until the end of the cell, and the timing falls within the last cell of the current vobid, then by default it seems that the sst always shows a duration of 3secs - if this occurs then the sub duration is extended to the cell end.)

Hi Alan!

I have also done the very same disk, quite some time ago, infact it was THE disk that prompted me to start using Numenu4u due to the size of the menu, what a cool menu it is too, very clever!

I don't recall any problems with it but it was a while back, probably DOIF4U pre 1.4.0 and Numenu 1.02 perhaps. CCE 2.5 and avisynth 2.53.

Have you tried the non-scenarist version of Numenu4u?

I'll give mine a run tomorrow night and let you know if I get the same error.

Looking at what gets created it does actually appear to process all of the subpictures as they are in the folders ok. The last three lines of the log file are below:

15/04/2004 20:18:58 3s display time noted, 00:00:00:00 , 00:00:03:00 , 1

A couple of things:

- is it possible to make more than one menu mit NuMenu4U?
Sometimes, I wanna have german and englisch menus but I donīt want spanish

- stop NuMenu4U; is it possible to stop all processes with one click?
If you make an mistake and want to stop, NuMenu4U continues with dvddecrypter or CCE

- small Menus. I just made K19 with DIF4U and Numenu4U. NuMenu4U opens correct, but after opening it want to close immediately (do you want to close; are you sure?... ) After pressing yes, it doesnīt remember that I have a (small 30mb) menu. So I have an movie with 4.37 GB plus x (the menu files), which isnīt writeable.

you can always select ALL for the menu languages, then in scenarist just remove the Spanish language folder.

Latest Build now available:

Bug Fixes:
Correction to the GPRM figure (this was causing a mismatch error);
Drop-frame is now correctly reported in the script;
Compensation for 0.4s Scenarist error;
Rewritten sst analysis routines - each cell is now analysed, so
vsrip is now run multiple times;
Fixed extra PGC's being created in the script;
Additional check is now performed on the sst, a comparison is made
to the original VOB, to check that there is no sst error;
Correction on NTSC titles where the sub display was being set
before the scene time - this gave a import crash when linking
buttons;
Removed one of the dummy detection routines - it was flawed;
Aspect Ratio now correctly determined;
Updated the ifoupdating routine for Video_TS.ifo

Enhancements
Assets in Scenarist are now imported into folders for better
clarity;
A large amount of data has been stripped from the script - better
import speed;
Alteration to conversion rule in scenarist - better clarity of
button edges, and highlight contrast and colours now seem almost
perfect;
AC3 files now checked for corruption and fixed prior to import;
Each bitmap is now analysed, and if no image is present (ie a full
blue screen) then this sub is removed from the script;
Setting a menu threshold value of 0 will now process every VOB
(if it exists) - This is the start of format conversion routines
Auxillary Files upgraded to latest versions.
Small improvement to the GUI

NB For the moment it is undetermined how good the new ac3enc.dll
is.It is reported as being more compatible than the previous
version, but nevertheless the option of AC3 re-encode has been
removed. If the menu has PCM audio this will still be processed.

Just tried reencoding the menu of Gangs of New York (PAL, region2).
This dvd contains 3 menues.
VTS_01_0.VOB --> 240mb
VTS_02_0.VOB --> 035mb
VTS_04_0.VOB --> 270mb

The original M2V files in the DEMUXED folder is 2.6mb in size. The reencoded MPV files is between 3.9 - 4.3mb in size.

Using CCE 2.66(latest ECLCCE), and one pass with 1800 as average bitrate.
Or should i use Multipass instead of onepass???

My problem is that the finished menu in VST_04_04.VOB is aprox 400mb big. Almost the doble size of the original menu.
How is that possible??

Am I doing something wrong?

D3s7
25th April 2004, 17:02
Personally if your doing a bitrate of 1800 I'd do at least 3 passes but that's just for quality

Try checking the "re-encde interlaced as progressive" see if that helps with your file sizes

Post the size if you can of the originalfiles and re-encoded here if you could...

Tore
25th April 2004, 20:43
When i reencoded the VTS_04_0.VOB menu with variable bitrate, the encoded menu was correct.

The size was redused from 400 to 130mb. So now i'm satisfied.

Trahald
26th April 2004, 00:25
with the one pass option, average isnt used.. only the q-factor which results in unknown size.. i have mine set to 45 which reduces the menus nicely. average only is a factor for multipass and roba.

the one pass is good for a quicker numenu process. q = 45 should always get smaller menus but not gauranteed.

Thanks again for the new version! Found a new problem with selected buttons color, already sent email with screenshots, script, subs and IFOs. The previously problematic Donnie Darko menu looks perfect now, however.

The menu with the color problems mentioned above was also special in that the video streams were field picture coded (as opposed to frame pictures). Because for field picture streams the TFF flag is always zero, the field order was incorrectly judged to be BFF. I had to manually set offset_line=0 in the ECL files. As far as I can see you are now using my modified version of DVD2AVI with the logging function. I'll post a new version that will generate a log file that you can use to correctly judge BFF/TFF for field picture streams.

As suggested earlier, could you please consider removing the "Quality Setting" and "Matrices" options from the CCE options? I have to manually turn off the damn filters in the ECL files every time :) Instead, please provide adjustment of quality_prec and GOP size.

I have noticed that when using multipass VBR, quality_prec is set to a too low value of 3 in the ECL. I don't think this was intentional...

I checked and this is done even when there is a button for such "empty" sub. Hmmm, not good. It didn't cause a problem with this particular menu (Donnie Darko) because there is just an invisible button during menu transistions (pressing enter aborts/skips the transistion). But consider Finding Nemo (going to try that next) with the virtual aquarium feature in the menu. When you click that the screen shows only the menu background (beautiful BTW :) ) and there's a transparent button covering the entire screen that will take you back to the menu. I suspect this button/sub will be removed in this version... going to test.

Thanks!

Fix: havenīt found it yet. IFOs looks identical but Iīll check it again.

it's probably something really stupid but i can't seem to figure it out.

using dif4u 1.4.7 w/ numenu scenarist ed., cce sp trial 2.66.01.07 eclcce v1.8b that came with numenu. followed the new big 3 guide. numenu completes the demuxing and vobsubbing and launches cce

this is what i get from cce:

couldn't find appopriate video codec for 'YV12'

and then after i hit ok it gives me the 2nd window:

vinfo_open() failed: *** Could not open the file <X:\lost\D_VTS_01_0\FRAMESERVING\007.vaf> ***
The system cannot find the file specified.

[Windows error code: 0x2 2

it's an amd box running xp sp1

the funny thing is i somehow got it to work once before but it froze at the stage of importing it into scenarist (maybe because i'm still using 2.6?)

please let me know if i need to pull anything from the log.

It's much easier to create motion menues using dvd lab

import to scenarist to Author with a better Authoring system.

I don't know dvdlab but, I dont think that create motion menues
with scenarist is complicated if you got it once.
If you use only one programm you wont get problems which the other programms come with.

@fourtyfour
If you mean DTS streams in the main video play, then yes. If you mean DTS streams in the menu - then no. I have never seen a menu with DTS audio. From the files you have sent me, i can see that the ifo was not properly updated - this would result in no other sub or audio streams being selected (even though the button commands were correct). Did you run NuMenu4u with full scenarist control or update the ifo later?
@AlanPartridge
This error seems to be a common one, and it (and others) is being caused by a problem in the way NuMenu4u handles more than 1 BMP per cell. The latest build addresses this, but requires a bit more testing before a public release.
@Sn8kbordin
Not seen this before, please send me the script - see pm

Hm, maybe Iīll do the movie again.
Iīm a little bit confused by the sum of ifo files on my dvd folder :)
Possible, that I sent you the wrong ifos.

Iīll do the movie again.

You need:

--- Ifos created after NuMenu4U (have to start that before DIF4U, cause of an runtime error mentioned on other movies in this thread)
--- Original ifos.

Hi
I downloaded NuMenu4u Scenarist Version from this location:
http://numenu4u.users.btopenworld.com/setup.exe

is this the latest version?
I had a little problem because the eclcce of numenu4u tells me
that my cce version is not supported yet. I'm using CCE-SP 2.67.00.27
and it works with eclcce 1.81 in batchcce fine.

Another problem I have is that the option re-encode ac3 streams is grey.
Can't check it. I'm using scenarist 3.

Yes this is the latest build. I didn't know that there was a more upto date eclcce. Just copy & paste eclcce.exe and the dll into the install folder. Re-enocde AC3 streams has been disabled at the moment so that is why you cannot select it.

AFAIK NuMenu4U doesn't allow spaces in the name of the working directory you choose. At least I got a similar (if not the same) error when I tried to use a folder with spaces in its name.

@Zeul
What's the reason for this limitation?

Chubmeister

@Zeul

This is following a runtime 13 error... (tried about 6 dvds, all get this, different pcs, diff set-ups, no other errors tho).

I move the files to the right folder and import using the generated scenarist script and compile, all fine, brilliant! but how do I get the ifoupdate batch file to work, just can't seem to get things into the right folders?

eg. I'm only shrinking a VTS_01_0.VOB menu, the compiled VIDEO_TS folder includes the shrunk VTS_01_0.VOB as expected but it also creates a very small VTS_01_1.VOB (about 1mb), and, it has also created a VTS_02_1.VOB of about 2mb, but I never asked it to shrink the VTS_02_0.VOB menu (and it didnt, just put a dummy there), not only that but a VTS_02_1.VOB already exists in the original files. (I don't need to know the whys and wherefores of this, just that it is supposed to be like it).

So, as a workaround, how do I update the ifos either manually or how do I use the little .bat file you include?

If you're close to putting out a new build, then no need to explain this.

Appreciated

and only the assets tracks in scenarist, no scenario ie.

Second time I tried only VTS_12, it finished ok but scenarist during compile would give the error "...Bitrate too high ..." for some tracks. Those tracks were 11 frame long blank .m2v, but NM4U had imported them as still Menus, so I imported one of them as video, replaced the stills and everything was smooth after that.

Video_TS, well that's 350MB of blank video!!! Normal processing with NM4U had the same glitch as above with one 11 frame video, and the output was 315MB. So I replaced the 7 blank videos (30000 frames each or 20') with the same 2" blank video and VIDEO_TS,VOB is now 450KB.

I am currently stack with VTS_01 menu, were after all the processing is finished I get the

and an unusable scenarist script, mind you there are ~150 VobIDs in the VOB.
last but not Leat, my sencere compliments to Zeul for this project, it is really impressive.

My only sugestion would be the user to be able to have three dinstict steps, "rip", "encode", "author", because my FN project took 3 days up to here, mostly because of the encode step. Finally a way to lower the CCE priority would be of great help, the only way to do it now is via taskmgr,

Tnx for the app Zeul,

all the best

Edit:
RB is right, tested that with vts_12 in FN and the only way out of the virtual aquarium is pressing <Menu> button. ATB

Hi, I haven't seen this brought up, but suddenly (after it worked for awhile), NuMenu4U doesn't open either CCE or ReJig. I see it in the log file, but it just skips right along.

I also see that it copies the entire M2V files into the NEW_M2V folder, so after all this time and energy, I get a menu file that is right about the same size (or sometimes larger) than the original!

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
I've uninstalled and reinstalled all of the software programs in use here, and have made sure that EclCCE is pointing at the right version of CCE, and ReJig is in the NuMenu4U folder.

Thanks for your help! Great program!

hello,

i get this subscript out of range error too. unfortunatly if i dismiss the error nothing happens except i get a second error:

Number: 75
Description: Path/File access error

EXE Name: NuMenu4U
EXE Path: C:\Program Files\NuMenu4U
EXE Version: Version 1.4.7

Call Stack (lowest level first)

MainForm::go_Click (line 203)

any ideas about what to do?

sunchaser : couple things to check

1) does your demux directory have spaces in the name? This is currently not supported.. I'd suggest removing them

2) Try rebooting, it's possible something is locking a file open

3) Check your NuMenu installation directory, see if the numenu.log file exists... if it does, try renaming / deleting it and re-running

What is written in the Rejig file?

@t610425
There is a major bug with vsrip over a certain amount of vobid's. This could be the reason. The sst file is not being created correctly. Presently D3s7 is attempting to fix vsrip :D

@fourtyfour

Sorry, forgot i had mention that. Found the error that was causing the GRPM value to be set incorrectly. All fixed.

i have had very limited success with the scenarist version of NuMenu4U, it would like to try some failed titles using the old version that authored using ifoedit but cant find it, all references point the the new version. Can someone please provide a link to the last pre scenarist version?

thanx

Zeul:

Rejig never fires, thus - there is no file created by rejig. I can change from rejig to cce, and neither of these programs actually launch.

I can clearly see the log say that it IS launching either CCE or ReJig, but no program pops, and NuMenu4U just continues unabated.

I don't know what else to try. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, are there some files or registry keys I need to make sure are wiped to ensure a clean install?

I love the program, it used to work wonders, I'm not sure what happened in the meantime!

Let me know what other info I can provide you.
Thanks...

The file I believe he's talking about is the ReJig control file.... this would be created BEFORE ReJig starts telling it what assets need to be encoded. Also, do you have ReJig copied to the same directory as NuMenu? It needs to be in the NuMenu directory to start.

If neither Rejig NOR cce is starting up, then it sounds like something else is wrong... Post part of your log file here so we can maybe get a better idea of what's going on.

Also, a "Dir/s" of your demux directory might be helpful

Well, it doesn't work with either, and it USED to work, so I don't know. I've got rejig.exe in the NuMenu4u folder, the ecl ini file is correct, and if I launch eclcce from the numenu4u folder or rejig from the same folder, they work fine.

Here is the directory listing and log file. I can't find any control file created, either in the demux folders or in the NuMenu4u folder.

Dir /S Here (http://www.thepagodagroup.com/files/dir.txt)

NuMenu Log file (http://www.thepagodagroup.com/files/log.txt)

Thanks for your help, this is quite frustrating! I just HAVE to lose some of the 1 gig worth of Finding Nemo menus, it's killing me..

well when Numenu launches CCE it creates a .bat file that launches eclcce.. I'm not 100% sure what the controlfile for rejig is called or how it's launched but you do have this file in one of the dirs

06/14/2004 08:50 AM 0 Rejig.txt

which leads me to think rejig DID start but didn't do anything....

Yeah, I saw that - I wonder if NuMenu is passing a blank control file to ReJig, and that's why nothing happens?

This is quite frustrating! I'm going to reinstall NuMenu4u in a different spot and see if things get any better.

Love the program, though.. Sorry if I seem negative. Just running out of storage, need to get a few of these projects finished and move on..

i am also having troubles with having cce start, it appears to just skip right over it and go into scenarist. is there anywhere i could get the non scenarist version to see if that still works?

@Justn
I have found the bug that was causing this to happen. The newest build is just about ready, perhaps a day or so.
