I like the output quality very much, the best I have seen so far. I tested it on an interlaced and noisy pal dv source with a bitrate of 5188 and the quality was excellent to my personal opinion, though I didn't use any external filters (only trimming in avisynth and ffdshow as DV-Decoder). Give it a try, it's worth the time it takes (my settings led to a duration of about 8 times movie-length).

Previous version hasn't satisfied me much, for clean and progressive sources it seems to apply some filtering even if I disabled any type of such intervention.
Pushing quality stuff to the max hasn't put it ahead CCE either, _at all_.
Again, I have tryed it only with clean and progr. content, using a resonable bitrate for MPEG-2 (~3500 Kbit/s at 720x576).
Hope that MME is getting better, it's a *highly configurable* encoder.

i like for make vcd and simple-fast dvd. but has much moskito noise, even is 2 pass at medium bitrate.

Speedy. That's the only word I can use for it.
Mainconcept 2 pass vbr, 6000 bitrate, mpeg layer 2 audio, takes roughly an hour and 40 minutes to encode a 2 hour movie.
TMPGEnc, same settings, is well over 4 hours.
CCE (in dvd2svcd) takes roughly 3.5 hours to complete.
Canopus Procoder takes about 2.5 hours.
Quality is as good as any, of course, depending on source.
I use it mostly for "questionable" avi's.
DVDRips I use Canopus, to maintain quality at a reasonable speed.
