Hi
I made a new DVD project, the film Audio is in stereo mpeg audio file.
The Auto start play has a logo of my production, and i want it to br in surround AC3
I have tryied several diffrent ways having the AC3 as default to the logo, and the Stereo to the film with no luck.
Need experts advice...

You need to make sure the 2 pieces of video are in seperate VTSs, as you can't mix audio type in one VTS.

Not sure I understand you 100%, but you can't directly link from one VTS to another, you have to go though the VMG(Video Manager). Just use a black PGC with a Pre command linking to the main menu or title.

Alternatively you can put your intro into VTS menu domain of the same titleset since menus can have different audio/video attributes than titles. From menu domain you can jump directly to titles in the same titleset.

Very true, I was just thinking about the way in which the player will treat the intro as it's not in a title. Being in a menu, it won't be able to resume to it, and depending on how the other menus are setup, pressing root/menu from the feature could find it's way back to the intro. Just a thought.

Okay guys, in Scenarist you can combine different types of audio even in the same title. You just have to create two audio tracks for each video track, and put AC3 for example on the first track and MPEG audio on second track, leaving the other one empty or filling it with dummy blank audio. Of course, there should be a Cell command at the end of the first piece of video switching the audio streams.

I agree with you Dimmer, but this could lead to all sorts of resume/root issues with the cheaper lower end of the market DVD players. I just like to keep things as simple as possible.

You must have noticed that many DVDs have audio in different languages or director's comments, which are recorded in different formats. Main movie is usually 5.1 while the comments are 2.0. As for the cheap players, surprisingly, the cheaper the player, the more capabilities it usually has. APEX is a good example.
However, the simplest way in this case would be putting the logo into either VMG or into a menu domain of the VTS with the movie, as violao already suggested. Although adding another VTS seems like a simple solution, this indeed needs to be planned through in order to avoid the resume/root issues.

Just used it as suggested with a blank file at the VMG
Works Fine
Logo 5.1 Dolby Digital
Film 2.0 mpeg audio
