Dear All,
Let me first say that I've been using DVD2SVCD
for a little over two years now and even had
the privelage to correspond with one of the talents
behind this software. I stumbled
acrossed this tool surfing the net one day
at random. It's been absolutely faithful
to me ever since and When I did have
any hang ups coming to this forum
helped me emmensely. I never had to post a
question. Well until today. . .
I live in Japan and with my wife who is Japanese.
So when I buy DVDs and back them up I always select
subtitles. I've been using the same color layout for
years. Black, Sky Blue, Navy, Med.Gray (in that order).
Now recently I've been backing up foreign language
dvds to dvdr using dvd2svcd. These discs usually
do not have an English Sub, only Japanese. So
I've been adding my own English subs using the tab in
software for External Subs. . .Along with those from the
DVD.
In my last three movies the Japanese subtitles
came out quite strange, the colors were not quite
right and difficult to read - shadows too wide, fuzzy outline, and in one instance, to high in the picture. However, the External English subs were perfect!
I haven't messed with the setting much over the years
accept for changing it to producing DVD output rather than SVCD.
The only thing I can think of that I've done different is ripping
the DVD first to my HD using Decryptor (Becaue I can't get DVD2SVCD to rip to one directory and create images in another)
I have a feeling this may be the source of my problem, but I don't see why or how. (I do not use Ifoedit, and the subtitles are pretty much the colors I've selected just not clear)
Has anyone experienced this?
