Cropping without recompressing a video

I have compressed a video (of 2 hours) with DivX and I've just realized that in the top of it appear some lines.

My question is, is there any way to crop the top of the video without reencoding/recompressing the video?

BTW, which divX codec do you prefer? 5.05 or 5.1.1? I have 5.1.1 and it takes a lot of time recompressing...

You can not crop without recompressing the video.
Either you recompress and lose quality or you keep the lines, they don't hurt.

The speed of DivX 5.1.1 depends on the performance/quality mode you choose. Standard is quite fast, though.

"Standard mode in 5.1.1 ... is functionally equivalent to Slowest mode in previous versions of DivX 5..." . (DivXGuide5.1)

If you are using ffdshow (http://www.doom9.org/Soft21/Filters/ffdshow-20040227.exe) as your decoder, you can crop during playback.

5.1.x encoding speed has been discussed many times on this forum.
