Does anyone have an idea how to switch the channels on my satellite-receiver with my computer? Everytime when I capture from TV I have to stand up in the middle of the night to change the tv-channel on the receiver for capturing another film from another channel.
Any Soft- and harware-ideas?
Greetz and thanks

I have used a piece of software called Slink-e.
Do a search on this or parts ( remote x10 slink-e )

is it possible to use slink-e without their hardware (only an ir-transmitter connected to the rs232)?

Inside the CDR software there is a program to repeat IR remote codes. You don't have to use the Slink-E box. You will need to drive the IR LEDs from the computer. Keep searching the web for more ideas.

If you have Directv try http://www.pcmx.net/dtvcon/ It works with the low speed serial port.
The cable has an RJ12 and DB15 ends. RJ12 is the size of the handset cord on phones (in the US) that have cords you can replace. I cut a 4" chunk off of an extra cord I had.
I have a cable 30' long to my DTV box. Remote desktop into my capure box and I have a remote control I can use anywhere in the world....
