There is HDTV over cable but the move is SLOW maybe 3 channels in my area and you must pay and extra US$10 a month just for Discovery channel, not owrth it as I pick up 6 OTA with an antenna.

dead, the fact is that HDTV over cale is modulated different than over the air and you can't....YET.

Dvico has released a card called FUSION HDTV 3 (http://www.dvico.com/products_mul_hd3.html) that was intended to use over-the-air and cable's QAM modulation. However, it didnt work on every card. They promise thier next card which is due out in one month to capture HDTV via cable.
I have 2 of the Fusion 2 cards and they are FANTASTIC. I would bookmark thier page and keep an open eye.

I found cable QAM channels impossible to tune.
Although there are standard frequency charts and symbol rates for 256 QAM yet each cable operator in USA uses their own standard and at least until 2005 most channels are encrypted.
If the new Fusion card works I would buy it in an instant.
