OK.. new VOB file made thru VOBedit; which plays just fine with Power DVD. Made new IFO files with IFOedit & re-did VTS sectors, as normal. But not only will the file not play when opening thru the IFO file... it locks up IFOedit utility when I try to use VOB extras to correct pointers. I have tried both IFOedit v.94 & v.96... also ran IFOupdate.78; but that did not help. When I tried opening the file with SHRINK... the error displayed is "V_ADMAP does not begin at zero" never had this problem before... any suggestions..???
thankx... Robert

I have ran 'new ifo files' 3 times now... IFOedit just shuts down when I try to 'correct pointers' Even re-did all the VOB's on my 2nd pc... this "V_ADMAP" thing is apparently causing IFOedit to abort.???

Explain your VOB file creation using VobEdit.

I followed derrow's guide:
http://www.mpucoder.com/derrow/joinclip.html
I've done this DOZENS of times before, with no problems. The result this time is a VOB file that plays perfectly with power dvd... however, I cannot create IFO files that work.

What were you joining?

I joined clips from movie "Mulholland Drive" total file size=353mb. Nothing special here; altho there was DTS audio... all clips were formatted the same from the same title set.
After reading [thread=58897] authoring forum; I was sure the IFOupdate.78 would fix this... which processes the file just fine... but the resulting IFO file still crashes IFOedit when I try to run "correct pointers".??
Before IFOedit shuts down... there is a brief message that says something about an "error log being created" ...any idea WHERE or the NAME of this error log..??

"error log being created"... just a Windoze OS warning... still doesn't explain why IFOedit crashes.?

There's alot of bugs with IfoEdit that still needs explaining, especially with crashing when inserting new bytes. If Derrow, IfoEdit's author, couldn't give us an answer or fix then you'll just have to learn to live with that fact or try to find workarounds like I do. An annoying bug was v.95 and .96 reverting back to 0.94 when the IfoEdit.ini mysteriously gets corrupted. There's no obvious explanation on why it does that.
Learn from your experience and others and hopefully educated people on discrepancy until next version, whenever that day will come.

yeh... that's the idea. If I wuz really serious about getting this clip done... I'd get the original back, & start over from there. It just bugs me that I couldn't fix this one... just looks like a stupid pointer out of place, somewhere. Anyway, thankx for your followup...Robert
