Hi

I get an error message when I try to burn a DVD in DVDlab which states that there is something wrong with the my "source" files (in this case the mpeg2's). I, therefore can't use the "main" compiler engine and have to use the second (alternative) one. I burn the DVD and it plays fine on my PS2 and on most other settop boxes but it doenst seem to run on one or two others!

1st question: I've tried re-enconding the mpeg2 with TEMPenc plus and compiled the dvd well (using the "first engine") but the resulting quality of files on tv weren't good (jerky). Which other program should I try to re-encode the mpeg2's with? Procoder?....does it even make sense outputing them in MPEG2 (compressed format) when I need to re-encode them again in another format? should I just output them as AVI's and then re-encode?

2nd question: Could that fact that the DVD disk being DVD -R instead of a DVD +R have anything to do with it playing well on some machines but not on others, or is it most likely the fact that I compiled the DVD using the "second" engine the culprit here? Does it really matter if the DVD is -r or +r? The machines I tested it on were in a shop, so one can assume they're recent models! will older models have problems?

Thanks again

It might be because TMPEG has changed the resolution of videos and your disc would have multipul resolutions and it won't work with them..

Two reasons that DVDLab won't compile.
Something is wrong with the structure (menu's etc), or something is wrong with the assets.
All assets must be identical, that is, the same type of audio, and the same framerate and aspect ratio/framesize.
If you insist on mixing assets, each must go into it's own VTS, and then be bridged.
No guarantees that a mixed asset DVDR will play on any given player.
