I have a NTSC DVD with a 2.0 AC3 track and no 5.1 AC3 track. I also have a divx of the same movie but WITH the 5.1 AC3 audio track. The divx is probably from a PAL version because it plays at 25fps.

I have demuxed the mpv from the DVD and the 5.1 AC3 from the divx, but when I attempt to remux the files with DVDLab, the audio rapidly grows out of sync. It's more than 5 minutes off by the end of the movie.

Am I correct in guessing the video is playing at 23.976fps and the audio is playing at 25fps?

Is there any way at all to merge these two and keep them in sync?

This is my very very first DVD authoring project, so be nice.

That's correct. If you want NTSC then I can see no other way then to decode/demux 5.1 ac3 to 6 wav files, time-strech every one of them with factor = (25 * 1001) / (24 * 1000) and then re-encode to 5.1 ac3.

If you can accept PAL then the easiest way should be to change the frame rate of elementary video to 25 fps. I believe ReStream can do that as well as DOS command tool pulldown.exe

also you will have to consider that both of your sources may not start at the same place so further editing may be needed - either adding some silence in the beginning or cutting some to get them in sync - dont forget to pulldown your video
